Chess Junior Championships

On Friday, 17 September, from 14h30 till about 17h00, preliminary rounds of this years Junior Chess Tournament will take place at Eros Primary School. The Prizes are: First: N$ 300, Second: N$ 200 and N$ 100 for third place.

The entrance is free.

The top players will be invited to take part in the Standard Bank Namibia Primary Schools Chess Championships on Saturday, 18 September.

Participants are expected to wear their school uniforms. Refreshments and snacks will be on sale.

The Standard Bank Namibia Primary School Chess Championships 2004 will take place in the Eros Primary School on 18 September from 7h30 till 15h00.

Here the Pruize money is as follows for Girls and Boys:

First: N$ 500; Second: N$ 300; Third: N$ 200

The prizewinners are invited to take part in the Standard Bank Namibia Junior Chess Championships on Saturday, 25 September.

Entrance fee is N$ 10 per player.

Junior Championship

The Namibian Chess Federation in the meantime invited High School players to take part in the Junior School Chess Championships on 25 September at the Eros Primary School from 7h30 till 15h00. Here the Prizes for girls and boys are:

First: N$ 1 000; Second: N$ 800; Third: N$ 600; Fourth: N$ 400.

The overall junior boys champion of 2004 will play out against the champion of 2005 to determine who will be a candidate for the World Chess Olympiad in 2006.

Entrance fee of N$ 10 per player will be asked by the participating schools to be paid over to the Namibian Chess Federation.

Tournament Director for all these touyrnaments, Helmuth Leicher, is expecting lists of participants until 10 September.
