Friday 20th of August 2004 Old Mutual seeks 5326 shareholders Old Mutual Namibia still has N$ 20 million worth of unclaimed shares after unbundling the company’s various business operations in 1998, also called de-mutualisation. Despite repeated advertising, road shows and radio spots, some 5326 Namibian shareholders must still be traced. Mr Johannes Gawaxab, CEO of Old Mutual told journalists all efforts were made to find the policyholders. During its unbundling, Old Mutual six years ago gave shares to each and every policy holder. The five-year claiming period might have to be extended for a period of seven years, the CEO said. The 1,75 million unclaimed shares were worth N$ 20 million. He appealed to shareholders to phone Old Mutual at 161-299- 3225 to verify that their shares has been registered. |
