A small crowd of steam train enthusiasts flocked to the Windoek station on Wednesday for a rare event: two steam locomotives pulling vintage coaches of the South African Transnet vintage Steam Safari Train were the prominent visitors. The two locs of the type D 19, also known as Dollies were restored to their former glory and were admired by old and young alike. The steam train visited Tsumeb and the coast and will pass Windhoek again over the weekend on its way back to South Africa. Photo: Brigitte Weidlich
