Dordabis-Rallye

Friday 27th of August 2004
Old Wheelers

On the 4th of September 2004 the Old Wheelers Club of Namibia and its sponsor, Diesel Electric, are hosting their annual Doradbis Rally. 23 Vehicles have entered this event with a whole spectrum of cars ranging from an Auto Union to Volkswagen Beetles.

The oldest vehicle entered is a 1936 Nash Lafayette, one of only two remaining in the world.

Further exotic vehicles like the beautiful 1946 MG TC, 1959 Porsche 356A, 1968 Gogomobil and even a 1970 Kreidler Florett RS 50cc Motorcycle have entered this event.

Vehicles will arrive at Diesel Electric at 13:00 and will leave the premises of Diesel Electric in Mandume Ndemufayo ave. at 13:30 turning into Sam Nuloma Avenue and heading out towards the Hosea Kutako International Airport.

After a timed stage to Otjihase Mine and back the vehicles will drive in a convoy in an easterly direction up to the turn-off towards Dordabis.

As these vehicles are of considerable value and most can not maintain the speeds that mordern cars do the Old Wheelers Club requests fellow motorists to please be considerate.

A clearly marked sweeper vehicle will be driving behind the last vehicle and the Old Wheelers Club of Namibia requests all fellow motorists to please treat the grand old ladies of the roads with the respect that they deserve.

Keep on Old Wheeling
