The Kopano Turf Club will be the place where everybody could be present this coming weekend, when approximately 30 horses will battle it out in the third last series of the MTC and Tafel Lager Event.

The horse race takes place some 50 km east of Gobabis at a place called Shaka. The defending champion "Ahead of Love" will not be there. So Saddam and Deep Imper are the expert‘s favourites to scoop the 2000 m event. Salaloria from the July Handicap will also be missed due to injuries.

Afanasi Katamelo, the Shaka Horse Racing Associations chairman invited all horse racing lovers and horse owners to come in big numbers. He said last year the event was attended by a huge crowd from all over the country. That has been labelled as a „huge success".

The next race will be held in Gobabis in November. It is the „Gobabis Championship".
