Scholars in Grades 5 to 7 are invited to compete in this event, which starts on Saturday, 18 September. Players in school uniforms are expected to start playing at 8h00 and the tournament will last until about 15h00.

The championship takes place at Eros Primary School, Eros Weg, Windhoek. Entrance fee of N$ 10 per player was collected by the schools and will be paid over to the Namibian Chess Foundation.

There are attractive prizes for Boys and Girls. In each category these prizes are as follows: 1st: N$ 500, 2nd prize: N$ 300 and 3rd: N$ 200. There are 10 chess sets as random prizes for participants. - Refreshments and snacks will be on sale. - The prize winners are invited to take part in the Standard Bank Namibia Junior Chess Championships on Saturday, 25 September.
