Sunday 16th of January 2005 A new and allegedly luxurious passenger train will arrive in Namibia at the end of next month, TransNamib announced this week. Experts of the parastatal will leave for China this Saturday to inspect the newly constructed train, which was ordered last April. The train will be shipped from China on 27 January and it will be inaugurated on 15 March. According to Olivia Kanymeba-Usiku, PRO of TransNamib, passengers will enjoy benefits like economy and business class, DVD and digital audio systems. The new train will be used for the routes Walvis Bay-Tsumeb-Ondangua and Windhoek-Keetmanshoop. Last year TransNamib already bought 4 new locomotives from China and 30 oil tank wagons. |
