Friday 11th of February 2005 Veteran business tycoon Harold Pupkewitz is initiating a discussion round for business leaders at executive level to brainstorm on Namibia’s skills crisis, unemployment, education and even land reform. Already late last year Pupkewitz told Plus he intended introducing such a forum to exchange views and ideas in order to apply insights gained for the benefit and development of the country. "National development cannot be left to Government alone, we must all become actively involved", Pupkewitz said. To achieve the ambitions Vision 2030 development plan, Namibia’s economy should grow 12% annually instead of the current average of 3%. The first Business Round Table – as it will be called – will be held in Windhoek next Wednesday, 16 February at 17h00 at the Safari Conference Centre. A fee of N$ 100 will be charged and a cash bar will be available. Countries like Britain, Australia, USA and South Africa have introduced such a Business Round Table. |
