Thursday 10th of March 2005 The brutal murder of 8 people on the farm Kareeboomkolk last weekend had shocked the farming community and the Namibia Agricultural Union (NAU). In a statement issued this week, the NAU expressed its sympathy and condolences to the families of the 8 slain people. "The repeated murder of farmers and farm workers is of great concern to the farming community and causes further insecurity to farmers who are already under pressure with various other problems", the NAU said. Such acts further reflected negatively on Namibia as a safe international investment destination and especially the reputation of Namibia as a safe destination for tourists and international investments. The NAU praised the good work of the police in all recent murder cases, as they apprehended the suspects in all cases. |
