Police arrested the son of late Mr Rassie Erasmus of Farm Kareeboomkolk because he was seriously implicated by one of the two Beukes brothers who allegedly shot and killed the Erasmus couple and six other people living on the farm. In a statement, the Police said Erasmus junior, aged 27, was arrested in Windhoek on Tuesday night around 21h00. "The arrest follows from allegations under oath by Sylvester Beukes that Erasmus junior had (allegedly) hired him to kill his parents", the statement said. According to Chief Inspector Hieronymus Goraseb of the police, the 27-year old Erasmus appeared in the Mariental magistrate court on Thursday on charges of murder. Bail was refused and the suspect will remain in custody. The next court appearance is on 22 April.
