Saturday 23rd of April 2005 Last Saturday at around 20h00 a Windhoek resident was stopped by a pick up which displayed the blue light of a police vehicle and 4 men gun-pointed him and took N$ 300 in cash. The robbery took place at Eveline Street in Greenwell Matongo suburb in northwestern Katutura. The victim was Mr Hermann Stephanus Kruger. According to the police report, the 4 men in the fake police vehicle took the wristwatch and car keys from Mr Kruger and drove off. The suspects are still at large. This is the first time in Namibia criminals used official blue lights, which only the police should have, were used, for a robbery. |
