Namibian Participating at the 55th National Archery Championships in S.A

The Windhoek Bowmen Club (target archers) has send three archers to the 55th National archery Championship held at Turfhall sports complex in Cape Town on the 1-5 April 2005-04-14

For the past 55 years archery in South Africa has been recognised by the international archery governing body Fita (target archery) and the 2005 tournament will carry international ranking and status making it a premier archery event on the continent. This was reflected by the judge’s status with two of the world’s most respected and senior officiating.

According to the club championship result held through the year the following persons did qualified to participate at this event:

Booyzen Grobbler Men Compound

Kai Mohr u\16 cadet Compound

Dirk Bockmühl u\16 cadet Compound

Oliver Rohrmüller u\14 cadet Compound

Raimund Rohrmüller u\12 Boys Compound

The event consisted of a Fita round the first day with bad wind conditions (up to 42, 6 km\h) A 720 round the second day and the elimination on the third day with far better weather conditions.

Unfortunately only three archers were able to participate. We congratulate:

Dirk Bockmühl on achieving a silver medal pending gold

Oliver Rohrmüller on 2 gold medals

Raimund Rohrmüller on 1 silver and 1 gold medal
