57 % income loss for Oceana

The Oceana Group, which is a leading fishing enterprise, has made 57 less income in the 6 months ending 31 March 2005, compared to the same period a year ago. the company announced this week. Oceana is in involved in the fishing industry and has a subsidiary, Blue Ocean, a whitefish company at Walvis Bay, which was closed in December last year and it produces the Lucky Star canned fish brand. Share earnings were reduced to 73 %, Ocean announced. The main reason or the downward turn were "asset impairments, loan provisions and other costs of closure in the Namibian whitefish operations", Oceana announced. Group profits after taxation came to R 23,4 million compared to R82,4 million in 2004.
