Construction of a history museum at Okakarara was completed a few weeks ago and the official launch will take place on 3 June at 12h00. According to the organisers, President Pohamba and several Cabinet ministers are expected to attend the inauguration, which will host a photo exhibition of last year’s Herero genocide commemorations. The museum is part of the Okakarara Community Cultural and Tourism Centre (OCCTC) that was built in 2004 with funding from Germany.
