WINDHOEK OPTICS RAMBLERS Windhoek Optics Ramblers finished the league with a 3:2 victory over Black Africa last Sunday.

Bernardin M’bilizi and Tommy Kaimbi (2) were on target for Ramblers. This result means that Ramblers have secured 3rd place on the logstandings!! During the last three seasons we ended fourth each time. Congratulations to coaches Tollie van Wyk and Dave Fransman and the entire team on this well earned improvement.

The most important game of the season - the prestigious NFA Cup final - is hanging in the balance currently as a decision is pending on who Ramblers will have to face in the final. Rumour has it that the final will now only take place on 25 June 2005.

Here are the results of Ramblers Striders who participated in the Mid-gard Bush Marathon held on Saturday, 21 May:

21 km run: Andres Angula 1hr 17 min 35 sec

21 km run: Thomas Shinaenga 1hr 23 min 45 sec

21 km run: Louis Prinsloo 1hr 48 min 06 sec

These are excellent times. Dalene Blaauw as well as Rochelle and Martin Spangenberg also particpated in the 21 km run.

Anelle van Zyl particpated in the 10 km run

In the 10 km walk the following times were recorded:

Ronelle van Zyl: 1hr 27 min 27 sec and Pieter Snyman: 1hr 30 min 55 sec.

Ronelle got the second prize in the Masters category. Well done!!

Sylvia Bessinger also took part in the 10 km walk.

WINDHOEK OPTICS LADIES In recent league matches our ladies beat NDF 4:1, but lost 1:2 against Okahandja Beauties. Our team is currently in third position on the logstandings.

The jackpot was not claimed last Friday night as Dieter Steinmetz was in Walvis Bay at the time.

A whopping N$ 1400 are thus at stake this Friday evening. See you all at 19H00!!

The popular Top Score 7-a-side for companies will stage the second knock out stage on Friday evening. The finals including prizegiving will take place on Saturday, 11 June from 08H30 until 13H00.
