Erongo Trading cc in Omaruru would like to announce that on Saturday the 6th of August at 15h00, on the site, 66 Wilhelm Zeraua Street in Omaruru, there will be a ground breaking ceremony for their new Spar Shopping Complex, a 3,300 square meter super store, the largest Spar in Namibia.

Otto Zapke and Bobby Griebel, partners of the close corporation, said it was time Omaruru had an office complex that reflected the economic status of Omaruru in the region as a
vibrant and growing community with the interests of the residents always at the forefront of their minds. "We felt we needed a complex that not only brought a wider variety of products to
Omaruru, but which also reflected the nature of the culture of the area even if it did not fit the mold for a standard Spar Market,." said Otto Zapke. "Our community likes to stop in the aisles of a shopping center and talk to their neighbors and generally visit," continued Bobby Griebel, the close corporation’s other partner, "so we made the aisles wide apart so people could feel comfortable chatting and other neighbors could still get around them to continue their shopping uninterrupted, and this is not a standard
Spar."

The complex is composed of a Spar Supermarket which will be 2,100 square meters in floor space, of which 1,500 will be in the trading floor. The balance will be entrances and exits
and open space, including a water feature. There will be 600 square meters in office spaces, some of which are still for rent, and three line shops available for rent which will total another 600 square meters. When asked what else was unique in their shopping complex, Bobby Griebel responded, "It’s not unique to Spar, but it is unique to Omaruru. We will have several special features, three in the Supermarket: a full bakery, a delicatessen which specializes in take-away (HMR) choices, and a 77 square meter conference room for rent with in-store catering for finger
foods or full deli lunches and dinners."

They plan to open by or before the 1st of August, 2006
