Sunday 11th of September 2005 Zero Tolerance Petition The winds of change have reached Namibia with a new president for the nation having taken over the reigns and his string calls to curb corruption and to show zero tolerance for it. The youth wing of the Congress of Democrats is organising a peaceful demonstration against tolerance on Monday, 12 September between 12h00 and 14h00. Anyone who wants to join this civil action can come to the Windhoek main post office in Independence Avenue. The mach will start there past the Zoo Park and to the government buildings to hand over a petition to Prime Minster Nahas Angula. To support President Hifikepunye Pohambas call for zero tolerance with regard to corruption, the National Society for Human Rights (NSHR) is also active and will distribute lists in the centre of Windhoek until next Monday for the public to put their names on the list to support the call of the CoD youth wing, the Young Democrats. The petition and the lists will be handed over to the Prime Minister Nahas Angula. Zero Tolerance activists will be distributing the Zero Tolerance Petition, posters and other relevant information to the general public also to other areas in the country. |
