President Hifikepunye Pohamba has, on the recommendation of the Judicial Service Commission, appointed the following Judges as Acting Judges of the Supreme Court: Justices Bryan O’Linn, Fred Chomba, Petrus Damaseb, Gerhard Maritz, Simpson Mtambanengwe and Madam Justice Mavis Gibson. The appointments are from 1 September 2005 and last for a year. The president further appointed 3 senior judges from South Africa as acting judges of the Supreme Court to hear one appeal case in the Supreme Court. They are Justice Mogoeng Mo-goeng, Judge President of the Bophu-thatswana High Court, Justice Frans Kgomo, Judge President of the Northern Cape High Court and Madame Justice Suretta Snyders, Judge of the Gauteng and Witwatersrand Division of the High Court.
