New police chief Sebastian Ndeitunga has suspended 4 senior police officers this week as a consequence of the alleged suicide of Avid investment scandal kingpin Lazarus Kandara. Among the suspended cadres are the three officers who always kept close to Kandara during his two days in court and Oskar Tsheehama, the head of the serious crime unit. Tsheehama was only appointed a few months ago after the resignation of Nelius Becker, a crack police officer, who pursued a career in the private sector.
