Goju Kai Karate wants to go to Rotterdam

Goju-Kai Namibia has been invited to attend the 4th Karate-do Goju-Kai World Championships, to be held in Rotterdam, Netherlands, from the 9th – 14th November 2005. Goju-Kai Namibia anticipates to send a team of 10 adults and 16 youths (under the age of 18) to this tournament.

Goju-Kai’s participation in this World Championships held in Perth, Australia during 2001 yielded a World Champion in one of the categories (Leonard Martin) and a total of 1 gold (Leonard Martin), 2 silver (Leonard Martin & Ryan Geyser) and 3 (Ryan Geyser & Delano Januarie) bronze medals. Leonard Martin will defend his title in Rotterdam and Ryan Geyser and Delano Januarie will also be part of the team.

The team is as follows:

In order to raise funds for the karate students to attend this prestigious tournament, Windhoek Dojo will host a "Fun Day" at the Cohen Fausball club in Olympia on 1 October 2005 starting at 10h00. Swakopmund and Walvisbay dojo’s will have their fund raising event in the form of a Variety Show on 8 October 2005 at the Swakopmund Hotel and on 14 October at the WalvisBay Town Hall.
