Goju Kai Karate wants to go to Rotterdam Friday 23rd of September 2005 Goju-Kai Namibia has been invited to attend the 4 th Karate-do Goju-Kai World Championships, to be held in Rotterdam, Netherlands, from the 9th – 14th November 2005. Goju-Kai Namibia anticipates to send a team of 10 adults and 16 youths (under the age of 18) to this tournament.Goju-Kai’s participation in this World Championships held in Perth, Australia during 2001 yielded a World Champion in one of the categories (Leonard Martin) and a total of 1 gold (Leonard Martin), 2 silver (Leonard Martin & Ryan Geyser) and 3 (Ryan Geyser & Delano Januarie) bronze medals. Leonard Martin will defend his title in Rotterdam and Ryan Geyser and Delano Januarie will also be part of the team. In order to raise funds for the karate students to attend this prestigious tournament, Windhoek Dojo will host a "Fun Day" at the Cohen Fausball club in Olympia on 1 October 2005 starting at 10h00. Swakopmund and Walvisbay dojo’s will have their fund raising event in the form of a Variety Show on 8 October 2005 at the Swakopmund Hotel and on 14 October at the WalvisBay Town Hall.
