The considerable permanent collection of Namibian art at the Woermannhaus-Artgallery is well-known to artlovers in the country and elsewhere. At the same time, while gathering art from Namibia, the Swakopmund Arts Association started to collect modern works of graphic art from Europe.

The interested visitor will have the rare opportunity to inform himself and at the same time enjoy the well presented works of graphic art.

Original graphics by recognized artists like Kokoschka, Pechstein and Dali will be on show.

The "Vienna School of Phantastic Realism" is represented by lithographs in colour of Ernst Fuchs, Rudolf Hausner and Paul Wunderlich, as well as of the German draughtsman and graphic artist Horst Janssen.

After the devastating years of the Second World War one finds a strong revival of culture in Europe, especially in the field of modern art. Upcoming artists established themselves and influenced the artworld of Europe considerably.

Graphic works of this „younger generation" (Kliemann, Edelmann and others) can also be viewed.

This unique and valuable collection of classic modern art will be on show to the public from 2nd till 20th October. Opening of exhibition on Sunday, 2 October at 17h00. Gallery hours: Mon - Fri 10h00 - 12h00 and 15h00 - 17h00. Saturdays: 10h00 - 12h00.
