The riders of the Swakop Valley Stables as well as from Reitverein Swakopmund have just completed a very successful 14 days of horse riding in Windhoek.

On the weekend of the 10th and 11th September Swakop Valley Stables had a total of eight children and junior horse riders taking part in the annual Namibian National Dressage Championships, where they have been able to accumulate 6 first places and 8 second places in various dressage events. The pride of the Swakop Valley Stables and the Okakambe Trails Horse riding School was of course Cuilin Ermann on Okakambe Trails Jason, who secured the Namibian National Children Dressage title for the stable and Antonia Wacker coming back home as children vice-champion on Okakambe Trails Oskar and Clara Schneeweiß coming home third on Okakambe Trails Othello.

Last weekend, the 24th and 25th September Swakop Valley Stables had a total of ten children and junior riders and Reitverein Swakopmund had two adult riders entered into the annual Namibian National Jumping Championships and were even able to top the good results of the previous competition. The young stars brought home a total of four first places, seven second places and 6 third places in the numerous jumping events. This time the pride of the Swakop Valley Stables and Okakambe Trails Horse riding School was Gerhard Kotze from Walvisbay, who won the Namibian National Children Jumping title for the club on The horse Okakambe Trails Othello and Kim Woermann on Okakambe Trails Ruby coming home as children vice-champion, as well as Janni Jurgens on his horse Sherpa coming home as junior vice-champion.

In the adult class Michelle Künzle from the Reitverein Swakopmund certainly showing the other riders from Namibia the way as she entered with two horses for the National Championships and was able to be crowned the Namibian National Champion with her horse Rostock Ritz Fighting Fund and with her second horse Rostock Ritz Oskuri she even managed to steal the third place as well.

To top these good results the coastal riders also managed to bring home the cups for best rider and horse combination (Ingrid Kotze on Jasper), most successful children rider (Kim Woermann on Okakambe Trails Ruby), most successful adult rider (Michelle Künzle on Rostock Ritz Fighting Fund) and Kyra Roloff on Callie won the riding ability test. Kathrin Schaefer-Stiege, who is the main instructor at the Okakambe Trails Horse riding School, received the cup for excellent children and junior development work done for the equestrian sport.

It is good to see that the effort put into all the training at the coastal stables seem to pay of with great success and to see such good development work done at the Swakop Valley Stables and Okakambe Trails Horse Riding School, where the trainers Silke Kubirske and Kathrin Schaefer-Stiege managed yet again to have the horses and kids so well trained and fit to the point.
