Good governance, over-coming racial and tribal division, poverty and AIDS will be the main topics at a two-day conference organised by the Council of churches in Namibia this week-end. Presently Dominee Schalk Pienaar of the NG Church is the CCN president. The confe-rence will kick off with a dinner on Friday night at a Windhoek hotel with former President Sam Nujoma as guest spea-ker. On Saturday mor-ning president Hifike-punye Pohamba is to open the deliberations which all draw several hundred delegates from churches, NGOs and academic circles. This is the first large CCN event of such a nature in several years.
