The unbeaten run came to an abrupt halt last Saturday afternoon when Orlando Pirates beat Windhoek Optics Ramblers 2:1 at home.Playing in rainy conditions Orlando Pirates scored twice in the first twenty minutes after some disastrous mistakes in the Windhoek Optics Ramblers defence. Before half time our lads started applying the pressure and were justly rewarded when Henrico Botes scored just be-fore half time with a fine header. After half time Windhoek Optics Ramblers carried on with some fine combinational football but the forwards lacked just that little bit of luck to beat the Orlando Pirates goalkeeper. In the 70th minute captain Chris Nauseb received his marching orders after he was shown the yellow card when he touched the ball with his hand. Thereafter Orlando Pirates applied the pressure again whereas Windhoek Optics Ramblers concentrated on counter attacks resulting in a hard game of football. Orlando Pirates managed to rescue the result in their favour.

On Sunday we travelled to Otjiwa-rongo to play to a goalless draw with Life Fighters. A disappointing result indeed.

There will be no Premier league action this weekend. SOCIAL SOCCER LEAGUE

Last Friday night we lost to DTS 2:3 with Mark Kutzner and Gunter Penzhorn the goalscorers. Ramblers never found the rhythm in this game and although clearly dominating for the entire second half no clear scoring opportunities were created. On Saturday night we beat Crusaders 4:3 at home in a fine performance. Youngster Johnny Ngahipe scored all four goals!! Well done Johnny! Bruce Heyns and player coach Ockies Ockhuizen were also outstanding for Ramblers!

Our former coach, Jomo Khaiseb, is currently back in Windhoek for a short holiday!

On 27 April we play a friendly "Ramblers Germany" vs "Ramblers Invitational" whereafter we will have the official launch of the Germany tour.
