Saturday 29th of October 2005 Namibia Breweries this week launched the "Trash to Treasure" campaign aimed at collecting bottles for recycling. This will boost a cleaner environment and ensure cash for small entrepreneurs (SME’s). The launch took place at the Daan Viljoen resort with glass collector Tobias Hoaseb. NBL assist Hoaseb since June to transport collected glass from Divundu (Okavango) to Windhoek for recycling. Together with Etosha Transport, the ministry of environment and tourism, NWR and Collect a Can, NBL will assist Mr Hoaseb to clean up Daan Viljoen and recycle glass. The money generated from cleaning Daan Viljoen will be used to grow Mr Hoaseb’s business. This upcoming glass collector aims to empower other Namibians, by encouraging them to clean up their towns and selling the glass to him, and metal to Collect-a-Can. The next clean-up was at Xhorixas with Multisave on 26 and 27 of October. For further information, persons can contact Patricia Hoeksema at NBL at 061 – 320 4074 or 81 124 0199 or Mr Hoaseb at 0812-294804. |
