The Diamond Board of Namibia will host a conference of regional and international stakeholders in the diamond industry in Windhoek next Wednesday. Topics discussed will be increasing value addition locally instead of exporting rough diamonds to Europe, changes in diamond legislation in Southern African countries and the possible formation of a Southern African diamond manufacturing association. Angola, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa are the world’s major diamond producers. Parallel to the conference will be an exhibition of diamond jewellery to run from 1 to 8 November.
