This was the fourth competition to be held in 2003. It took place at Thick- Lip, Swakopmund

Good swell arrived in Swakopmund on late Saturday morning. The conditions were glassy, with a light and variable wind, the swell jacking to 4 foot with some bigger sets on Sunday. The weather was overcast with thunderstorms, but this did not deter the surfers who are willing to compete in all weather conditions.

Jock Currie showed his talent in the open surfing event but Wynand Labuschagne was not far behind him with his score. Wynand successfully pulled off an aerial manoeuvre which impressed the crowd. Jock had a repertoire of radical controlled moves in the pocket.

Shaun Loubser had a number of high scoring waves in the bodyboard division, Kyle Cyriax and Thorsten Viljoen were not far behind in their performance.
