Sister Eca Heide - 10 years with Johanniter's Saturday 12th of November 2005 The Johanniter Hilfswerk Omaruru recognized the tenth anniversary of unbroken service to their organization in Omaruru by Sister Eva Heide on Monday night, 8 November 2005 at the chapel building of Johanniter Hilfswerk in Omaruru. Kalli Dörgeloh, chairperson of Johan-niter Hilfswerke Omaruru, the first aid and relief organization in Omaruru and many other places in Namibia, made introductory remarks to "Dear Eva" on the occasion. "Exactly ten years ago Marion Schoenecke brought you to me. Our Relief Service here in Omaruru was exactly one year old. At that point I didn’t have much time, was in the school next door completing construc-tion of the wooden house." he said. "You said: I am from Berlin, am a retired hospital nurse, want to move to Omaruru, but above all else do not wish to sit at home with nothing to do. And the one thing you promised me, ‘above all, whatever I begin, I will finish.’ And so it began" In talking about her ten years of service, Mr. Dörgeloh said, "Every one whom you have met has found it totally natural for you to make immediate medical check-ups, for when someone has an illness, you know how important it is to recognize the illness as soon as possible. "We thank you today from the bottom of our hearts for your untiring commit-ment during the past ten years: "We thank you: - for your check-ups - for looking out for us, making house calls and visiting the sick - for the keep fit exercise program - for the video afternoons - for the senior afternoons - for all the sales you made on the street - for all the purchases you made in Germany - for your readiness with first aid - for planning of the new building with us and furnishing the clinic - for all the times you have conducted the annual general meeting in my place "But most especially we wish to thank you - for your readiness to help - for your love toward your patients and your fellow man - for your positive outlook (when one looks at your countenance, he simply becomes well again) "For Wolf-Friedrich, Graf Fincken-stein, were we the most varied relief organization in Namibia, like pearls in a necklace. That the Johanniter Hilfswerk Omaruru wishes to name you one pearl in their necklace, has a great deal to do with your contributions. We thank you for that ... and wish for you God’s Blessings into the future, and His company on each new day." The evening was crowned by presenting Sister Eva with a beautiful bouquet of fresh Omaruru flowers and a certificate commemorating her ten years of selfless service to the people of Omaruru. |
