Namibia’s only San (Bushman) member of parliament, Royal /ui /o /oo opened the first learning and development centre for the San community on Mnday this week. The centre is situated at Tsumkwe, some 300 km east of Grootfontein. Called the Captain Kxao Kxami Communtiy Centre, it aims at educating adults and teaching them literacy among others. According to the ministry of education, the centre is to benefit all age groups of the San community and the Tsumkwe residents at large. Some of the funding for the centre came from Norway.
