Thursday 1st of December 2005 Swakopmund music lovers can expect a special treat at the beginnig of December. The Polish/German trio „Jeux de Sonorite‘s (Joy of music,timbre) pro-mises to be one of the highlights of the festive season in Swakopmund and is presented by the Swakopmund Arts Association on 3 December at 20h00 at the NPS Kulturaula . The Members of the Trio are: Wojtek Majewski violoncello,Sonja Majewski- Günzel Flute, Almuth Preuß-Niemeyer Piano. The ensemble staged many succesful concerts in Europe and played together with the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker, the Philharmonic Orchestra Würzburg, the Klassische Philharmonie Bonn, the Kölner Kammerorchester as well as many soloconcerts and always achieved highest praise in the German press. Wojtek Majewski startet his musical education in his hometown Posen where he won the National Poland Cello Competition. In Köln he began his Cello studies with Boris Permanetschikow. After his studies he became a member of the Düsseldorf Symphoniker, also performing solo and in many Chamber music ensembles. Many TV and broad-casting recordings where made with the" Norddeutsches Rundfunkorche-ster" and the „Orchester des Hessi-schen Rundfunks". Sonja Majewski-Günzel , a born Nami-bian started her education in RSA and completed her studies as a flute player in Germany. She made her debut as a solo flautist in a concert for flute and drums by Andre Joliver. She became a member of the „Philharmonie der Nationen" under the initiator of the Schleswig Holstein Festival, Justus Franz and she was a Member of the „Klassische Philharmonie Bonn and the „Kölner Kammer Orchester". She did many recordings for TV and CD productions. In 1997 she was appointed solo flautist with the „Würzburger Philharmoniker. The Majewski Couple with there two children settled permanently in Namibia. The pianist Almuth Preuß-Niemeyer, born in Hildesheim Germany s studied Music at the colleges of Hannover and Detmold. As a Lecturer of music specialising in piano ,she is teaching and instructing at the „Musikhoch-schule Porta Westfalica" and the Music academy Hannover. Her engagements as concert pianist takes her through the whole of Germany and Poland. Almuth Preuß-Niemeyer is wellknown to Namibians through her participation in the Musikwochen Concerts and the Concerts with the Namibian National Sinfonie Orchetra. With the Trio „Jeux de Sonorite’s" the Swakopmund Arts Association is presenting the third trio of highest standerd in a short time.
