The Windhoek municipality is the first one in Namibia to receive a credit rating from a South African credit ratings agency. The agency, CA-Ratings, gave Windhoek a zaA2 and a zaBBB rating. This means that the City of Windhoek has "adequate capacity to repay long-term and short term debt". The ratings were announced at the end of last week and were assigned on the South African national scale since Namibia and RSA for the common monetary area which does neutralise currency risks for South African investors.
