Imke Rust, who recently has won the Standard Bank Namibia Biennale for the second time, is the recipient of the prestigious "Stipend of the Bremer Buergerschaft 2006". She has been invited to stay in Bremen for three months starting in March 2006.

Almost a year ago the German artist Michael Weisser approached Imke Rust, via her avantgART marketing website, and asked for assistance for his art project in Namibia. Imke Rust did not hesitate to help and put Michael in touch with local artists and organizations critical to the success of his project.
