The Khomas regional team scooped the Namibian newspaper cup last weekend at the Legare stadium of Gobabis, when they crushed Oshana by 4-1 in the final. The spectators did arrive in maximum numbers as it was expected, but those who witnessed the regional tournament have all reason to be delighted. The two time winner of the newspaper cup, Omaheke, had to bow out in the semi-final stage of the competition, when Khomas beat them 8-7 after a penalty-shootout was necessary as the score was 1-1 after 90 minutes.

The Omaheke fans left the field in disbelief as they were convinced that their team could win the cup for the third time in a row.

in the other semi-final Oshana hammered Okavango, winning by an isolated goal and thus securing their place in the final.

The names of selected players will be announced in due course.
