Friday 27th of January 2006 About 80 veterinarians and scientists of related sciences from Africa and Europe held a 3-day workshop outside Windhoek this week to discuss rabies in southern and eastern Africa. They sheared research data on rabies in wild and domestic animals, the spread of the disease in game parks, urban and rural areas in Africa. The South East and East African Rabies Group (SEARG) formed an association during the meeting. The aim is to compile area reports, exchange views and liase with the World Health Organisation (WHO) on topics related to rabies, which is an incurable disease and can also spread to humans. |
