PREMIER LEAGUE

Ramblers beat Orlando Pirates 3:0 in a league match played at the Sam Nujoma stadium last Friday night.

Orlando Pirates dominated in the first thirty minutes, but it was John Samson who got the first goal for Ramblers with a well taken long range effort in the 38. minute. Just after halftime, Ramblers had two more clear chances to increase the score, but were unsuccessful. Orlando Pirates then started applying the pressure again trying to score the equaliser.

But from the 65. minute it was Ramblers again who had the upper hand and it was Tommy Kaimbi who increased the score to 2:0 in the 73. minute when he scored from the edge of the penalty area after he received a defence splitting pass from Victor Helu.

The game continued at a very fast pace with Orlando Pirates trying to pull one goal back. But Ramblers replied with numerous well constructed counter attacks and were eventually rewarded in the 87. minute when Hafeni Likeus played a long ball to Duncan Subeb on the right wing who provided an accurate cross for Tommy Kaimbi who volleyed the ball into the back of the net. Congratulations to coaches Tollie van Wyk and Dave Fransman and the team for an excellent performance. This weekend we play logleaders Civics on Friday night at 19H00 at the SKW field and on Sunday we travel to Otavi where we play Touch & Go at 15H00. Good luck!!
