Cancer Association Launches Apple Project

The awareness for cancer among the public is a major aim for the Cancer Association of Namibia (CAN). Since a few years schools and companies rasie funds for CAN with selling apples for a few weeks. Last year 426,000 apples were sold at N$2, raking in nearly 1 million N$ for CAN. This year the target is 500,000. Launching the project with the main sponsor, Bank Windhoek on Wednesday were CAN director Kurt Johannesson (L), Marlize Horn of Bank Windhoek and deouty health minister Petrina Haingura. Apples can be orderd at any Bank Windhoek branch, CAN offices or Fruit & Veg City by 17 March.
