Defence and home ministers from Namibia, Tanzania and South Africa met in Windhoek this week to discuss defence issues of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), which wants to set up a regional defence force. The SADC organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation is currently chaired by Namibia. Three countries - the troika - form the committee on a rotational basis. The photo shows South Africa’s defence minister Patrick M. Lekota (L) and another government delegate at the 2-day meeting. Photo: Brigitte Weidlich
