The Windhoek concert of Belgian pop star Helmut Lotti last weekend raised N$309,000, the Nambian office of UNICEF announced on Wednesday. Lotti is also a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF since 1996. The money will be used on AIDS programmes for children. An amount of N$5,900 was also collected as donation from the audience during the con cert. UNICEF Namibia will donate the whole amount to an Usakos kindergarten. Helmut Lotti called upon the Namibian business community and dignitaries to work together to make Namibia a better place for all children. "The reason I am doing this is for the children" said Lotti as he introduced a group of children from Usakos who performed a song with him.
