Sunday 19th of February 2006 PREMIER LEAGUE Ramblers won both games last weekend in Windhoek and moved to fifth place on the logstandings! On Saturday we beat Chief Santos 2:0 in a thrilling game played at the Sam Nujoma stadium in Katutura. Ramblers dominated the first half but did not convert the numerous chances into goals. In the second half Tommy Kaimbi was sent off in the 75. minute after receiving a second yellow card for foul play. In the 85. minute matters worsened for Ramblers when the other striker John Samson also received his marching order after apparently abusing the linesman. Ramblers were reduced to nine men but carried on playing forward and were rewarded in the 87. minute when defender Giuseppe Calabrese scored with a superbly struck header after a corner. Ole Khiba sealed the game for Ramblers in the 90.minute after some fine combinational football with Victor Helu. In Sunday’s game against Oshakati City Ramblers took an early lead in the 20.minute through Ole Khiba. But instead of settling down, Ramblers became complacent and Oshakati City promptly replied with two quick goals before half time. In the second half Ramblers played more agressively again and dominated the game completely now. But it was the presence of Ramblers Patron, Mr Andimba Toivo ya Toivo who joined the game for the last thirty minutes, that turned the fortunes for Ramblers. Three well taken goals by Naka Shimwino, Michael Pienaar and Duncan Subeb ensured a well deserved 4:2 victory for Ramblers. This weekend we play the two outstanding league games. On Friday night we face Black Africa at 19H30 at the Sam Nujoma stadium in Katutura. All Ramblers fans are urged to meet at Ramblers Club from 18H30 onwards from where we will jointly depart to Katutura. On Sunday Ramblers play Touch & Go at 14H00 in Otavi. Good luck guys!!
