Former NUNW official in High Court Saturday 25th of February 2006 The dismissed acting secretary general of the National Union of Namibian Workers (NUNW) appeared in the Windhoek high court on Monday. Naholo was dismissed unprocedurally after he criticised a press release from an affiliated union backing former President Nujoma’s uttering about the mass graves discovered last November. Naholo only criticised the union for sending out a press release without his knowledge as secretary general and NUNW president Risto Kapenda. Naholo’s enemies said he turned against Mr Nujoma and got a court order to remove him from the union premises. On Tuesday he was to explain why he still used his office at the NUNW despite an interdict obtained by NUNW to prohibit him to enter the premises. The case was postponed to 27 February, when a date will be set for the trial. The photo shows Naholo and a companion leaving the high court. A small group of supporters peacefully demonstrated before the court with pleas written on their posters for union leaders to unite.
