Telephone Interruption at Tsumeb

Saturday 25th of February 2006
PLUS

The telecommunication service of some customers in Tsumeb has been interrupted. The problem has been traced to damage caused by rain to an underground paper-lead cable.

Starting on Saturday morning, 18 February 2006, to Sunday evening, 19 February 2006, Telecom technicians will be working hard to replace the damaged underground cable. As a result of the repair work, some 400 customers on the southeast quadrant of the town will experience interruptions of service which will be brief in duration during the period.

The quadrant to be affected covers the area from the Francis Galton Primary School in Ilze Schatz Street towards Extension 4 and the Klein Tsumeb area, including the town’s airstrip.

Telecom Namibia apologises for any inconvenience caused but at the same time we would like to assure our customers that what we are doing is necessary in order to restore service to normalcy as soon as possible.
