The year 2006 will witness more than 5000 events celebrating the birth of world famous composer Mozart. Born in 1756, Mozart during his rather short but busy life created over 600 compositions, the first at the age of 5 and the last on his deathbed.

PricewaterhouseCoopers is honoured to bring these celebrations to the Namibian shore by sponsoring the Namibian concerts as organised by the renowned Namibian choir, Cantare Audire, under the leadership of Ernst van Biljon. These concerts, scheduled to take place on the 7 and 8 April, will be held at the St. Mary’s Cathedral.

The Cantare Audire Choir is one of Namibia’s most well known choirs. Founded in 1972 by choir master Ernst van Biljon, Cantare Audire has won international acclaim as a result of numerous international performances. Rated amongst their top performances is their joint performance with the world renowned Mormon Tabernacle Choir. They have completed no less than 8 international tours.

Namibians will be fortunate to be part of the international celebrations around Mozart’s 250th birthday. It is a fact that people all around are coming forward to express their feelings about Mozart through the production of concerts and events.
