For the first time ever, a mens team of 3 players is parti-cipating at the 48th World Team Table Tennis Cham-pionships to be held in Bremen, Germany from 24 April to 1 May 2006. The tour-nament is played every two years with the Individual World Cham-pionships alternating every year in between.

This Sport is the fifth biggest of its kind in the worls and at present 44 African countries are affi-liated to the International Body while worldwide 204 countries are members of the International Federation and more than 100 countries par-ticipate at the World Cham-pionships.
