The victory in court was short-lived for Peter Naholo, acting secretary general of the labour umbrella body NUNW. He triumphantly raised his fist on Friday seconds after the the court ruled he was illegally dismissed and should be reinstated and all costs to be borne personally by Alfeus Muheua, NUNW vice-president. On Monday the NUNW told reporters that Naholo was reinstated with immediate effect. But that a second letter was handed to him, informing him about his suspension due to alleged "misconduct" and to be followed by a disciplinary hearing. Naholo is dismantled by his own comrades in NUNW and SWAPO, supposed to be the pro-Nujoma faction, indicating a deep rift in the ruling party. NUNW has 5 seats on the party’s central committee.
