President Pohamba appointed a 7-member commission that will be active in a part-time capacity to determine the remuneration and other beenfits of public office bearers like members of Parliametn and regional councillors. A law to that effect was passed iin 2005. The members are Judge Mtambanengwe (chair), Dr Christina Swart-Opperman, Ms Monica Kalondo, Nangula Uaandja, Messrs Bengt Strenge, Johhny Hamman and George Simataa.
