Dear Members and Friends,

After 4 hours emergency meeting at the LTC Chambers, it has been
established that ± 500 community members in all areas of Lüderitz have been left homeless and in desperate need of food , clothing and blankets.
ANY kind of contribution will be highly appreciated. Presently the Mayor and Councillors are busy evacuating the hardest hit to
sheltered areas , I have bought nails and roof sealing material from Mega
Build with the LCCI’s funds, so that some of the Shelters can be repaired. I have arranged for a room at the ZUM were we can store the contributions.
If any of you are unable to deliver we will gladly pick up the goods.

Thank you to Gerd Nissen / Theron Brand and Gerd Kessler for making
transport available should the need arise. The mayor has contacted Minister Abraham Iyambo , who in his capacity will contact the Honourable President to get assistance as we cannot wait for all the red tape and protokoll to take its time. The Red Cross are also willing to assist , but there again the red tape will take to long.

Your positive assistance in these times of dissater are really appreciated.
It has been said that the rains will be even heavier to-morrow , so please
be prepared. Some of us are expreriencing water shortage. The matter is beeing attended to - and will hopefully be rectified still to-day.Please be patient. Please also take special care when driving as the road infrastructure is presently very fragile
