Ramblers

PREMIER LEAGUE

Our team collected maximum points last weekend when they won both their matches!!

In Friday night’s game against Orlando Pirates, Ramblers took an early lead when Gerry Keister scored from a penalty in the 15th minute. Orlando Pirates equalised just after half time, but in the final twenty minutes it was one way traffic for Ramblers. Numerous chances were created, but it was John Samson who got the winner in the 87th minute when he scored in convincing fashion after some fine combinational football.

On Sunday afternoon it was derby time at the SKW field.

Ramblers dominated the first half, but SKW defended bravely with their goalkeeper Heribert Kapeng in out-standing form.

In the second half Ramblers created more chances, but could not capitalise. As the level of frustration for Ramb-lers increased, SKW started creating a few good chances in the last ten minutes. But it was Ramblers who scored the winner in the 90. minute when Lollipop Awaseb scored from a well taken header after captain Michael Pienaar had provided the cross.

In the end it was a hard fought, but well deserved 1:0 win for our team. Ramblers remain in second position on the logstandings but have reduced the deficit to two points now!!

Congratulations to the entire team on two brave performances!!

This weekend we travel to Oshakati where we take on Chief Santos on Sunday at 14H00 in the quartr final of the NFA Cup.

Good luck guys!!
