The concerned group of the Ovambanderu people in the Omaheke region won the first round in a legal battle against a faction of the Nguvauva clan led by deputy fisheries minister Kilus Nguvauva, who wants to become the next Ovambanderu chief. The Nguvauva clique changed the tribal constitution, allegedly without consulting the people and also fired 11 senior councillors, among them Senior Chief Erastus Kahuure, who for decades has been the closest advisor of the ailing Chief Munjuku Nguvauvua II, who is over 80 years old. Kahuure on Monday was immediately reinstated by Judge Elton Hoff and he ordered netotiations between the 2 parties to take place in 2 months, i.e. by 9 June about the constitution and the reinstatement of the remaining 10 councillors. The photo shows Senior Chief Erastus Tjiundikua Kahuure in the court room with his Councillor Sondi Tjiroze from Aminuis - one of the reinstated Councillors - and Urora Henguva .
