Hata Angu Cultural Tours of Swakopmund was selected as winner of the best stand award at the Namibia Tourism Expo 2006 held in Windhoek last week. Hata Angu provides cultural and township tours for visitors to Swakopmund. Last December the firm added a sand boarding facet to its activity. The photo shows Raymond Inichab of Hata Anu showing his winning certificate. Hata Angu exhibited on the cluster of stands for small firms at the Expo, facilitated by Windhoek-based SMEs Compete Namibia, a consultancy firm that provides income growth and employment creation support to the country’s small and medium enterprise (SME) sector. Nine SMEs were specially selected to exhibit on SMEs Compete’s cluster of stands at the Expo because of their focus on servicing Namibia’s hospitality and tourism sector. Of the nine, four are part of the ‘Namibia Cultural Route’ branding developed by SMEs Compete. A fifth one, Ongwediva-based Etuna Bed & Breakfast, joined during the Expo. Etuna B & B owned by Ndaambe Nekwaya, is the first northern-based tourism SME to become part of the ‘Namibia Cultural Route’ grouping. Photo: Contributed
