Top Score Ramblers 7-A-Side competition Statistics for 2006 Friday 9th of June 2006 The tournament was played over 11 weeks and matches were played on Friday evenings. A total of 74 teams took part in the competition.
The teams were divided into 16 groups with each group consisting of 4 to 5 teams. The first round of matches was played on a league basis and the first 2 teams in each group qualified for the next stage of the competition. During the first round a total of 135 matches were played with a total of 228 goals scored (on average 1.7 goals per match - 1 goal every 8 minutes). It also means that some 1890 minutes (app. 31 hours) of soccer was played. The second half of the tournament was played on a knock-out basis, meaning tha the looser of a match was out of the competition. 64 teams started in 2 groups in the first knock-out stage. The third stage and quarter finals were played on one day leaving 4 teams for the finals. 60 knock-out matches were played and 133 goals scored (average of 2.2 goals per match) 11 of those matches had to be decided via a penalty shoot-out producing another 56 goals. The semi-finals and finals were left for the big day. Energy 100, Namib Mills, Namibia Airports Company and Nedbank were the 4 teams qualifying for the semi-finals. In total 199 matches were played, 434 goals scored (on average 1 goal every 2 minutes) and 2570 minutes of soccer played (some 43 hours). The top goal scorer for the tournament is JOSSY AILONGA from Energy 100 with 8 goals, closely followed by Abuid Kamburona from M T C and Bolle Hambira from Legal Shield, both with 7 goals each. The trophy for the most disciplined team went to second knock-out stage looser TRADE CENTRE. In 4th position, taking home N$ 1000 is NEDBANK In 3rd position, winning N$ 2500 is ENERGY 100 Runners-up, winning N$ 3500 is NAMIB MILLS The 2006 winnwe is NAMIBIA AIRPORT COMPANY winning M$ 6500. |
